Episode 2 is the second episode of the first season of Young Royals, and the second episode of the series overall.
Synopsis[]
Simon and Wilhelm spend time together outside of school. Desperate for ADHD medication, August attempts to get diagnosed. Rowing tryouts commence.
Plot[]
Nils and Madison recount their experience with each other at breakfast. August encourages Wilhelm to stand up, as they believed Wilhelm snuck off from the party with a girl. A member of staff saves him from having to explain.
Felice eyes up Wilhelm, and talks to him about their maths class. They talk about the party. August interrupts and Wilhelm wanders off. August hits on Felice, wanting to go to a restaurant with her. Felice complains to her friends about it.
Sara says hi to Felice but she doesn't say it back. Wilhelm looks at Simon and tries to talk to him, but they are interrupted by their maths teacher. Simon gets his maths paper back and doesn't do very well. Wilhelm explains that the students pay for private tutoring to get their grades up. Simon asks the teacher for private lessons.
In the stables, Felice tries to coax her horse into going for a ride, and Sara takes over. The horse goes easily with Sara. Felice is upset. Sara tells her to stop being afraid of the horse. She explains that she understands horses better than people, but that she would like to have friends. Sara takes a picture of Felice with Rousseau (the horse).
Wilhelm watches Simon row, and helps him from the shore. August pulls Wilhelm out from the conversation.
Simon explains to his friends that he went rowing, and they make fun of him. He explains he wants good grades so he can get out of his home town. His friends don't understand. They eat pizza and play games.
August works out. Sara rides Rousseau. Wilhelm follows Simon on Instagram and stalks his page. August comes In suddenly and accuses him of looking at explicit imagery. Erik calls on Wilhelm's phone, and August has grabbed the phone. When he is talking to Erik, August complains about Wilhelm's lack of motivation (they have morning practise and Wilhelm isn't out of bed). August leaves the phone with Wilhelm. He complains about August and Erik explains that his father committed suicide. Wilhelm prepares for practise, and leaves Erik's call.
August makes them do push ups. Simon and Wilhelm laugh. Simon goes to talk to August about the money for the alcohol. August says he will get the money to him.
In his room, August realises he is running out of medication. He asks his friend Vincent if they can get some more for him. Vincent tells him no, and to get a professional diagnosis from the school councillor. August tries to explain he thinks he has ADHD, the councillor tells him he is just stressed. The diagnosis will take weeks according to the professional, and August gets frustrated.
The students study, Wilhelm sits with Simon. August attempts to make it into a debate about class, so Simon leaves. Sara leaves too, but Felice invites her to watch a horror movie. August asks about Sara's diagnosis.
Simon invites Wilhelm to the game that his friend is playing in. Wilhelm lies to August about coming to practise, saying he is ill. Wilhelm goes on the bus and gets humiliated. After meeting Simon, they converse while walking to the game. Simon explains how it is living in a small town. Simon introduces Wilhelm to his friend. Wilhelm offers to go and get hot dogs for them. Ayub and Simon talk about Wilhelm, and Ayub accuses Simon of liking Wilhelm. Wilhelm returns with the hot dogs, and they watch the game, cheering on Rosh. They drive home on motorbikes.
August catches Wilhelm out, and Wilhelm apologies for leaving the school without permission. He is placed on dinner duty instead of Alexander, for a week. August shows Wilhelm Simon's instagram story about him.
Sara talks to Simon about the night and Wilhelm.
Felice complains to Madison about August. The headmistress asks August about his tuition fee. August tells her that his mother is travelling, and that is why the money hasn't been paid. August has half of his last pill. August talks to Sara about ADHD medication, and the potential of selling him some. Simon interrupts the conversation and makes it clear that he is uncomfortable with August talking to Sara. Simon agrees to supply August with the pils in order to get double his money.
Simon visits his dad, and explains that Sara can't come and visit him. When his dad is talking about going to a concert, Simon steals his dad's medication from a drawer.
Simon gives the drugs to August, and asks for his money. In the middle of rowing practise, August praises Simon in front of the others for working hard despite being a non-boarder. Wilhelm laughs, and they share glances.
Sara and Simon go to watch the horror movie. They all jump, but August thinks it isn't scary. Simon and Wilhelm hold hands. Wilhelm leaves, and seems to have an anxiety attack, sitting on a windowsill. Simon approaches him. They talk, and Simon kisses him. They kiss again, but some students laugh in the distance. Wilhelm struggles to talk, and then kisses Simon, this time for longer.
