Young Royals Wiki

Episode 2 is the second episode of the second season of Young Royals, and the eighth episode of the series overall.

Synopsis[]

Negotiating the harsh consequences of his rebellion, Wilhelm presents the Queen with an ultimatum. Birthday celebrations remind Sara she's an outsider.

Plot[]

The Queen tries to ring Wilhelm several times, but he keeps on refusing her calls. He is serious about not wanting to be Crown Prince. Losing Simon to Marcus has scarred him.

Later, Sara’s birthday rolls around as she’s turning 18, and the girls are surprised that she’s a year older than them. She explains that it is because she repeated a year. She tells them that her mother wanted her and Simon to quit after the sex video was leaked. Sara is then overwhelmed by the presents given to her by her friends and how expensive it all seemingly is.

Wilhelm continues to mess with the seniors at the expense of August, starting with how the freshmen get to shower now before the seniors. The rules keep constantly changing due to Wilhelm’s Royal meddling. Even August’s crew is getting irritated, but August is powerless. Wilhelm tells one of the seniors, Vincent, that their leader, August, can be replaced if they are not satisfied.

While in class, Wilhelm is picked up by the Queen’s staff. It appears his rebellion has caused a reaction from the Monarch. Simon looks on concerned, and Felice tells him that she believes the Queen will force him to leave Hillerska. Meanwhile, Wilhelm is asked to pack “essentials only”. Students gather near his room, watching the commotion between Wilhelm and the Queen’s Royal Court service.

Wilhelm refuses to move from his desk in his room which leads to one of his ornaments smashing on the floor. The Queen then calls Wilhelm and tells him that he needs to be patient and that he can make decisions on his future in due time. The Queen offers to negotiate with Wilhelm so he can stay at Hillerska if he goes to therapy, and he also needs to give a speech at the Jubilee. In return, he can make decisions on who he wants to be when he turns 18. Wilhelm barters back by stating that he wants zero security around him.

It looks like Wilhelm got what he wanted: to be the Crown Prince on his own terms. Eventually, Wilhelm and Simon find time alone; Wilhelm explains what he negotiated with the Queen, but Simon does not want to wait two years to make their relationship public. Thus, they will have to remain friends.

Simon continues to spend time with Marcus, and after a while, they decide to have a “Netflix and Chill” evening together. Simon does not hesitate to kiss Marcus, and they hook up almost instantly before picking something to watch. However, Marcus holds back and makes it known that he likes Simon and that he does not want to rush their relationship.

Wilhelm attends his first therapy session, but he is concerned that the therapist will report back to the Queen. The therapist insists it is confidential.

Wilhelm and Felice join Marcus for clay shooting. Wilhelm is irked that Marcus has joined them and tells Felice that he’s dating Simon. Felice was unaware of this situation and is surprised. August is confronted by the seniors on his leadership. They make him aware they’ve elected a new prefect, which catches August by surprise. With him losing his prefect position, Vincent is the new leader now.

Sara learns from Felice that she’s quitting horse riding as she’s selling the horse and giving him to a good home. Sara is upset because she loves the horse. During training, the rowing team sprint race through the woods. Wilhelm and Simon decide to cheat, but then they see Marcus. Wilhelm acts like he knows nothing of Simon and Marcus dating and tells him he bumped into him while clay shooting.

Later, August receives a voicemail from the Royal Court stating the Queen wants to meet him. Meanwhile, Wilhelm sees a text from Marcus to Simon flirting with him.
