Episode 4 is the fourth episode of the second season of Young Royals, and the tenth episode of the series overall.
Synopsis[]
Rumors about a girl in Wilhelm's room circulate while Sara's fling might be short-lived. The girls rebel against antiquated Valentine's Ball traditions.
Plot[]
Rumors began circulating after Henry sees Wilhelm and Felice in bed. Meanwhile, Sara is still in over her head with August, who’s asking her to send intimate photos of herself.
Furthermore, the Valentine's Day ball is something that many of the girls are talking about like who they would like to bring. The boys talk about it too, many of which deciding how they need a Plan B in case they are rejected.
Amongst the boys, Wilhelm has to defend himself, stating that nothing happened between him and Felice. However, no one believes him. Hearing about what happened, Simon walks out, upset. Following this, Simon hangs out with Marcus. Later on, Wilhelm asks Simon if he and Marcus are together, and Simon is purposefully vague, causing a brief argument between them.
Feeling under pressure, Wilhelm talks to Felice. He explains his situation and how he’s hurt by Marcus and Simon. Felice is frustrated, explaining how she was in love with him for “the longest time”. Wilhelm apologizes for his behavior and wants to be friends. She accepts his apology, and they hug it out.
After having sex with Sara, August receives a call from the Royal Court telling him they will provide a plan for him for the next ten years; but they want to know if he’s ever impregnated anyone, if he drinks and smokes, and if he’s heterosexual. After this call, Sara talks to August about the call where he reveals to her that he’s the backup plan for Wilhelm in terms of the succession to the throne crisis.
Despite the romance brewing between Sara and August, Sara tells him she can’t go to the Valentine's Day ball with him and that she’s going with the girls instead. The girls have all decided to rebel against the usual traditions.
At the Valentine's ball, everyone is in high spirits. Simon brings Marcus, leaving Wilhelm to feel irked, but he tells Felice that he will be fine. Wilhelm decides to talk to Marcus and Simon and act casually about the situation. Simon appears irked that Wilhelm is acting normal about it. He confronts Wilhelm and tells him it feels weird, but Wilhelm insists he is being polite and believes Simon does not love him anymore before walking off.
August confronts Sara and asks her why she is pushing him away. She explains that if Felice finds out that she likes him, she will hate him, especially after what happened between Wilhelm and Simon. August gets impatient and explains to her that he is “not Wilhelm”.
Tired from the party, Wilhelm leaves to go outside, but Simon chases him and explains that he’s trying to move on. The tension between them is difficult for either of them to handle, and they break their stubbornness and kiss. But, their kissing is shortlived as Marcus calls out for Simon, so Simon returns to the party.
Simon leads a choir and sings his heart out at the Valentine’s ball. Wilhelm watches him with adoration.
