Madison McCoy is one of the recurring characters in Young Royals. She is portrayed by Nathalie Varli.
She is a student at Hillerska and shares a room with Felice in season 1. In season 2, she moves to her own room so that Sara can share with Felice instead.

Madison is presumably from New York, United States. She is half-American, half-Swedish (her mother is Swedish).

Episode 1[]
Madison walks in on Felice touching herself while looking at pictures of Wilhelm. She tells Felice that she needs to stop obsessing over him. She advises her to just get into a relationship with August since he is interested in her and a part of the royal family. She is later seen at Wilhelm’s initiation party.
Episode 2[]
At breakfast, the Manor House girls encourage Madison to stand on the table and reveal that she hooked up with Nils at the party, but she describes it as only “okay” and states she was just bored and they are not in a relationship. Nils, at the same time, tells the boys of Forest Ridge that they are together and rates their encounter a 9 out of 10.
Madison studies with Felice, Sara, and Fredrika, and defends Sara and Simon when August calls them freaks, saying “fuck you, August”. She attends the movie night with the other students.

Madison makes Felice take part in a “cleansing ritual” that involves spreading coal on their foreheads, lighting candles, and reciting a chant which she appears to be reading off her phone. They are interrupted by Wilhelm, who Felice eventually invites to join the ritual. Madison seems annoyed at first but
Madison attempts to kick August out of her and Felice’s room, but he refuses to leave. After he gets angry at Felice for having Wilhelm’s jacket, she tells Felice to dump him.

Madison has a sleepover with Sara and Felice, during which she films them dancing and reads Sara’s palm. When Sara reveals that August kissed her in the stable, Madison is shocked and calls him a “douchebag”.

As Felice tries to find out who leaked the video, Madison gets a bit annoyed at her, telling her to stop playing detective and that the police will take care of it. She invites Felice to visit her in New York over the holidays.

At the beginning of the episode, Madison is moving out of Felice’s room so that Sara can move in. As she leaves, she gifts Sara a necklace which she states is supposed to protect her from bad energy. Sara asks if it’s really okay that she’s taking Madison’s place, but Madison is excited to finally have her own room so that she can burn sage.
Madison participates in Sara’s initiation. Later at lunch, she tells the other girls to stop gossiping about Felice and Wilhelm.

Madison pitches in for Sara’s birthday gift. She attends a sleepover with the other girls and plays a board game with them. She refuses to answer the question of how many people she’s slept with.

Madison is seen cheering at the rowing competition.

Madison tries to cheer Felice up after more gossip spreads about her, telling her that they’ll forget about it quickly and move on to another topic.
Like many other girls at Hillerska, Madison receives an anonymous love letter, which she reads aloud to her friends:

Physical Appearance[]
When not in her Hillerska uniform, Madison mainly wears oversized sweaters and Shaman dresses. She usually wears elaborate hairstyles consisting of braids, buns, and pigtails. Her style is quite unique compared to her peers, reflecting her eccentric interests.
Personality[]
Madison is friendly but blunt. She is outwardly confident but expresses some insecurity, particularly about her Swedish skills, saying she only speaks English because she doesn’t like to sound like an idiot. She is very good at giving advice and has a strong sense of justice and fairness, reminding the girls to stop gossiping.
She is into many spiritual practices such as palm reading, cleansing negative energy, and burning sage. She also appears to be sorting Tarot cards and doing yoga in some scenes.
It can be assumed she is quite comfortable in her own company, as although she spends time with her friends, she also expresses a desire to have her own room, and is often not present when they are hanging out. She also prefers to keep some secrets, choosing not to share her body count even with her closest friends.
It is implied she has a knowledge of music, or at least DJing, as she talks to and then joins the DJ at the Valentine's Day ball.

Trivia[]
- She understands Swedish but only speaks in English throughout the show because she is not confident in her Swedish skills. This is most likely due to her being a native English speaker from New York.
- Unlike other students, she and Felice share a private bathroom that seems to be connected to their dorm room, though Madison complains that the water temperature is unstable despite the school's expensive tuition.
