August, who has been self-medicating with ADHD meds to focus, targets Sara to try and get her to sell to him, but Simon intervenes. To protect his sister, he decides to get the medication instead. He and Sara later attend the Friday movie night together.

He greets Felice’s parents, Smyson and Poppe Ehrencrona, and gets introduced to Linda. Season 2[]
Episode 1[]
She has arrived home from the stables, and has been given a lift by Marcus, who comes into the house to use the bathroom. Her mother tells her she has a letter, and Sara is delighted to learn she has been accepted into the scholarship which will allow her to board with Felice. She sends her friend a photo. When she moves in, Sara is dismayed at how noisy the building is, and at how messy Felice's wardrobe is. Quickly, the other girls start Sara's initiation, and they party in a cave, wearing masks and singing. The girls dare Sara to break into the Third Years' party and do something which will bring the party to a stop. She gets in and sets fire to the Forest Ridge boarding house flag, shouting 'Power to the pretty bitches of Manor House!' The next day, Sara tries to thank August for helping her win the scholarship, and he is angry, assuming she has broken her promise and told Wilhelm that it was he who posted the video. Sara tells him that it was not her, and helps calm him down as he starts panicking. This intense interaction turns her on, and it is not a wholly welcome feeling.
Episode 2[]
It’s Sara's 18th birthday, and she wakes to Felice, Maddie, Stella and Fredrika bringing her a birthday cake and some new jodhpurs. She stresses that she will not be able to afford to chip in for the next birthday, and later is forced to take money from her savings to afford lunch. Simon presents her with some jodhpurs that he and Linda have bought, but she turns them down, asking to have the money instead. Sara encourages Simon to go out with Marcus instead of Wilhelm. The girls have a game night, and Sara admits she has never slept with anyone. She wonders aloud what the point is of having sex, when you can get the same results alone, and Stella and Fredrika explain that it's more intense with someone you like. In the bathroom, Sara catches sight of Felice's phone and realises it is her who has told Wilhelm who posted the video. Sara later goes to August's room and tells him that it was Felice who told Wilhelm who posted the video, and then asks to kiss him. She does so, and realises the validity of her friends' words. She tells August that she wants to sleep with him. Later, Sara learns that Felice is going to sell Rousseau, and feels betrayed.
Episode 3[]
Sara and Felice watch as some potential buyers assess Rousseau, and Sara immediately hates them. She makes Felice promise that she will not sell him to these people. When looking after Rousseau's stable, August arrives and invites Sara round. Simon comes in and admits he is there to see Marcus. Sara goes to August's room, and the two talk. He tells her about how stressed he is, and she comforts him, before the two sleep together. When she goes back to her room, she chooses not to shower, so as to smell like August. Sara claps along with Felice at the rowing competition.
Episode 4[]
Sara receives a sext from August. The girls are making fun of Felice, and Maddie tells Sara that all girls make out with their best friends while drunk. Sara says she has never done this, and Fredrika tells her it's about time. Fredrika goes on to explain the history and ritual of Valentine's Day. Sara uses the opportunity to ask about how to respond to sexts, and what to write in a love letter. The girls question her on who she would send one to, and she laughs awkwardly, telling them it's all in theory. In the evening, she sends a photo of herself to August. When Fredrika receives Stella's letter, Sara is only half listening, because she is looking and smiling at August. He texts her and the two meet up in his room. He gets a phone call from Jan-Olof, and explains to her that he is Wilhelm's backup. He asks her to come to the ball with him and she agrees. When preparing for the ball, Felice says that it is too complicated to date a member of the royal family, and Sara questions herself, deciding not to go with August at the last moment. As they get ready, and at the ball, she notices that Stella pays special attention to Fredrika, and asks her whether it was her who sent the Valentine's letter. Sara avoids August for a while at the party, before finding him to apologise. He is angry, asking her whether she just wanted sex. Later, she cheers for Simon as he performs his song.
Episode 5[]
The housemistress of Manor House instructs the girls on how to behave at the upcoming bicentennial celebration, and Sara asks multiple clarifying questions. Later, the girls are making a TikTok in Felice and Sara's room, and they deem Sara to have a dark side, and to be most likely to get revenge. During this scene, Felice receives a text from her mother telling her that Rousseau has been sold to the people Sara does not like, and she storms out. Physical Appearance[]
Sara has shoulder-lengthed curly brown hair and brown eyes. Towards the beginning of the series, Sara's clothing is often casual and comfortable, wearing plaid button ups, simple tops, and mismatched colours, all of which are suitable for horse riding. She shows interest in nicer, more expensive clothing and becomes frustrated that her family can't afford it. After she becomes close friends with Felice and the other girls, her style shifts and she is seen wearing more fashionable and formal clothes, some of which have been lent to her, like Felice's gold hair clips. Along with this, she is shown to start wearing makeup more often after her friends do it for her.
Personality[]
Sara is kind and caring but socially awkward. She doesn't always understand when to stop talking and isn't great at reading social cues, likely because she is autistic. She wants to fit in but has a hard time doing so, which can cause her to act rudely and selfishly when something threatens to get in the way of the friendships she eventually forms. It is evident that Sara wants to be loved and accepted, but she believes that she has to change in order for that to happen, instead of being herself. She is a fierce defender of Simon, who she fights and makes up with regularly as all siblings do.
Relationships[]
Romantic[]
August[]
After August abruptly kisses her in the stables, Sara gradually becomes more and more infatuated with August. It is likely that she loves him for his status, looks, and attention towards her, than a real romantic connection. Sara, more than anything, just wants to be loved and accepted.
In season 2, the two enter a proper relationship, although there are some bumps along the way where Sara wishes to keep it secret, and worries about what August's status as Wilhelm's backup will do to their relationship. Sara asks August multiple times to turn himself in to the police, but he does not do so, and by the end of the season, they break up.
Friends[]
Felice[]
Initially, Felice talks down to Sara or ignores her altogether. Sara is aware that Felice seems to envy her as she is able to handle her horse, Rousseau, with ease, while Felice, who is pressured by her mother to become an equestrian like the rest of her family, is unable to. Sara and Felice begin to form a friendship after hanging out while drunk at Wilhelm's initiation party and helping Felice with Rousseau. During parents' day, Sara states in front of Felice's mother that she takes care of and rides Rousseau more than Felice because Felice doesn't want to, which upsets Felice. They soon make up, and even when Sara confesses that August kissed her in the stables, Felice sides with Sara and dumps him. By the end of season 1, they consider each other best friends.
In season 2, Sara moves into Manor House, and shares a room with Felice. The two are thrilled at the prospect. However, Felice upsets Sara when it is revealed that she and her parents plan to sell Rousseau. They make up again, and Sara makes her friend promise they will not sell the horse to one particular family. Eventually, they do sell to them, and Sara feels betrayed. Felice tries desperately to make it up again, and eventually succeeds. Sara then reveals she is in love with August, and Felice is angry. The two end the second season with a mediated discussion in their dorm, with Sara begging for forgiveness, and Felice disgusted with her ex-friend. Sara packs her belongings in the middle of the night and leaves.
Stella, Fredrika and Madison[]
Stella, Fredrika and Madison form the larger group to which Sara belongs at Hillerska. She is friendly with all three of them, and they are often together. The girls clearly all like her, and are eager to explain things she does not understand, even though they tease her in a friendly, familiar way. On her birthday, the girls, along with Felice, all chip in to buy Sara some new johdpurs. At the end of season 2, Stella and Fredrika take Felice's side in the argument, despite not knowing the real depth to the problem. When the housemistress asks them to leave the room, they make clear their plans to tell Maddie, ensuring that she too will take Felice's side.
Family[]
Simon[]
Sara seems to have a relatively good relationship with her brother, although she can get frustrated with him. Simon is willing to leave Marieberg to join Sara at Hillerska, and worries about her being bullied. When the opportunity for an invite to a party arises, he ensures that Sara can come too.
In season 1, she is angry with him for interacting with Micke, and for bringing their father back into their life. He is frustrated because she seems to idealise a more elite life than they live at home, and this leads to a couple of arguments. They eventually make up.
In season 2, Simon expresses frustration that Sara is a poor communicator, and on multiple occasions tries to get her to call their mother, or come home for dinner. However, they still seem to have a good relationship, with Sara clearly very proud of her brother at the end of his choir performance in episode 2.4. Sara does express some frustration with Simon's choice of partner, encouraging him towards Marcus, saying that at least he doesn't need saving as often. At the end of the season, when it comes out that Sara has known all along it was August who took and posted the video, and that it was she who warned him that her brother was going to the police, Simon is betrayed and disgusted, and is inconsolable even by Wilhelm. Sara texts him that she's sorry and is going to sort everything out, and then calls the police.
Linda[]
Sara and her mother are not seen to be exceptionally close, but the two clearly do love each other. Sara is not great at keeping in contact, and Linda sometimes feels annoyed about this. Sara also is not seen to speak Spanish at home, whereas her brother and mother do. She seems to harbour some sense of resentment towards her mother for not leaving Micke sooner, and blames her for the harm their father caused. However, Linda is extremely proud of her daughter, as can be seen when Sara plays Lucia at the Sankta Lucia event. Her mother is also thrilled to see her when she comes home for dinner in episode 2.5, and Sara takes the time to educate Linda on the intricacies of talking to royalty.
Micke[]
Sara clearly holds a lot of resentment towards her father. She is angry with her mother for not leaving him sooner, and is later angry with Simon for bringing him back into her life. She tells Felice that she does not want any contact with him, and describes him as someone who drags people down into their own problems. She is upset when he texts her, and questions Simon as to why he would do that. Through Simon's interactions with his father, we see that Micke would love to get back in contact with his daughter, and attempts this when he attends the Sankta Lucia event. Sara does not speak a word to him when she sees him, instead telling Simon to get rid of him.
